How to Maintain a Rainwater Detention Module
The PP rainwater detention( storage) module is widely applied in various fields such as municipal engineering, construction and campus areas, industrial and commercial sectors, ecological and agricultural areas, etc. How to maintain the rainwater retention module properly?
◆A filter screen must be installed at the inlet to prevent leaves, sand bags from entering and blocking the gaps between the modules and the pipes.
This is the most fundamental and crucial step.
◆ Regularly clean the sewage and remove the surface fallen leaves and debris. Drain the water every half a year to one year. Use a high-pressure water gun to wash away the sediment accumulated in the modules to prevent corrosion from scale buildup.
◆Do not overload and crush the modules. Do not stack heavy equipment above the underground modules or drive vehicles to crush them. Avoid stacking heavy objects on the ground modules to prevent the shells from deforming or cracking.
◆Stay away from sharp and hard objects. When maintaining, do not use sharp tools like shovels or reinforcing bars to touch the modules to prevent scratching the plastic shells.
◆Change the water if the modules are not in use for a long time to avoid the accumulation of stagnant water, which can lead to the growth of algae and produce unpleasant odors. Also, prevent the internal walls of the modules from being covered with dirt.
◆ Regularly inspect the sealing interfaces to check if there is any leakage or loosening at the inlet and outlet ports or the joint seams. If any damage is found, apply sealant and reinforce it in time.
application case:
Here is a sharing of the application examples of the rainwater module: The second phase of Yaoqiang Airport in Jinan, a 180,000-square-meter parking lot, used 4 sets of PP module systems. It collected 45,000 tons of rainwater annually, which was used for greening irrigation and road washing, reducing municipal water consumption by 55%; it can withstand a load of over 30 tons of vehicles, and the water storage efficiency reaches 95%.
