The staple fiber needle-punched non-woven geotextile used for road maintenance is a new type of geotechnical synthetic material specially designed for road maintenance projects. It is mainly composed of high-molecular staple fibers (such as polyester, polypropylene, etc.) processed through the needle-punching technology into a non-woven fabric-like product. It plays an important role in protecting the road structure and improving its performance. It has a fluffy texture, good breathability, uniform pore distribution, and also possesses certain tensile strength, tear strength, and wear resistance. It is resistant to acid and alkali, corrosion-resistant, and can adapt to complex working conditions in the road environment. Therefore, it is widely used in the daily maintenance of roads.

The Role of PP Nonwoven Geotextiles in Road Maintenance
◆Isolation function:
Nonwoven geotextile is placed between different pavement structure layers (such as the base layer and the surface layer, or the subgrade and the base layer), it prevents the mixture of materials between the upper and lower layers, maintaining the material properties and functional stability of each structure layer.
◆Filtration and drainage:
Utilizing its porous structure, it allows water to pass through but blocks soil particles, avoiding water accumulation within the pavement structure that causes subgrade softening, frost heaving, etc., and at the same time helps to discharge excess water within the structure layer, protecting the subgrade strength.
◆Reinforcement and enhancement:
With its own tensile strength, it enhances the integrity of the pavement structure, disperses the pressure of vehicle loads on the base layer and subgrade, reduces pavement deformation, settlement, and delays crack formation.
◆Protective function:
Placed on the subgrade slopes, shoulders, etc., it can reduce direct damage to the subgrade caused by rain erosion and vehicle rolling, extending the service life of the highway.
