Why Are Polypropylene Fibers Used In Concrete
As a new type of concrete material, polypropylene fiber concrete is widely used in concrete engineering at home and abroad. As a new material, polypropylene fiber has the advantages of simple mixing process, less demand, low price and good acid and alkali resistance. Polypropylene fiber can form a network distribution in concrete, enhance the tensile strength of concrete, thereby improving the durability of concrete. The amount of polypropylene fiber used is generally 0.1% to 0.3% of the total weight of concrete. Different dosage has different effects on concrete.
The experiment shows that:
(1) The inclusion of polypropylene fiber makes the brittle weakness of concrete greatly improved, and the toughness of concrete has been greatly improved.
(2) The incorporation of polypropylene fiber can effectively improve the crack shrinkage effect of concrete, can well inhibit the emergence and development of early age cracks of concrete, and can refine large cracks into smaller cracks, with thinning effect, and has a good effect on the crack resistance of concrete, especially when the volume content is 0.1%-0.2%.
(3) Considering the impact of polypropylene compressive strength, when choosing polypropylene fiber as a single dosage, it is recommended to use low dosage polypropylene fiber, especially when the volume dosage is 0.1%, the best benefit of polypropylene fiber can be played.

Application of polypropylene fiber concrete:
Floor engineering (Industrial plant, warehouse)
Tunnel support (Shotcrete)
Precast components (cement board, pipe pile)
Hydraulic engineering (scenarios with high corrosion resistance)
